Escape

at night a forest mighty black
close to the border on my track
the lights appear down at the hill
keep down my head and wait until
the soldiers stop to shoot at me
but in the distance i can't see
they could be waiting over there
to kill me when i'm getting there

i start to run
kid in my arm
to hide away
without a harm
i try to duck
most everywhere
the bullets buzz
i cannot care

behind a rock on half the way
i'm so worn out but i can't stay
i'm slowly crawling forward now
to make my way down there somehow
the river lies in front of me
there in the distance i can see
they're waiting for me over there
to kill me when i'm getting there
